Family Line

Learn how to set up and manage Family Line:

  • Set Up Family Line

    • Before you begin

      Ensure the Verizon Family app is installed on the Guardian's device.
      Sign in to the app using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.

    • Steps

      1. From the Verizon Family Guardian app, tap the Chat / Call tab.
      2. To continue, review the app info then tap Set up Family line.
      3. Review the Terms and Conditions then tap Agree and continue.
      4. Follow the onscreen steps to set permissions and enter a valid E911 address.
      5. From the Your Family Line is activating screen, tap Got it.
      6. Once you receive the text 'Your Family Line is now available...', tap the link to complete set up.
      7. From the Your Family Line is ready screen, tap Next.
      8. From the Invite Members screen, select members you want to invite then tap Send Invite or Skip.
      9. To complete set up, tap Try it now.
  • Set Up Family Line Voicemail

    • Before you begin

      Ensure the Verizon Family app is installed on the Guardian's device.
      Sign in to the app using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.

    • Steps

      1. From the Verizon Family Guardian app, tap the Chat / Call tab.
      2. Tap the Voicemail tab.
      3. Tap Set up voicemail.
      4. Follow the instructions for choosing the language options then press the # key to confirm the choice.
      5. When prompted, enter the 4-7 digit password then press the # key.
      6. When prompted, say the signature (or name) then press the # key.
      7. To confirm the signature (or name), press the # key.
      8. When prompted, say the greeting then press the # key.
      9. To confirm the greeting, press the # key.
  • Call a Number via Family Line
    • Follow these instructions to make a phone call using Family Line via Verizon Family Plus.

    • Steps

      1. From the Verizon Family app, tap the Chat / Call tab.
      2. Tap the Phone icon.
      3. From the Keypad tab, enter a 10-digit number then tap the Dial icon.
  • Add / Remove Family Line Member

    • Before you begin

      Ensure the Verizon Family app is installed on the Guardian's device.
      Sign in to the app using a My Verizon user ID or mobile number that has Account Owner or Manager access privileges.

    • Steps

      1. From the Verizon Family Guardian app, tap the Chat / Call tab.
      2. Tap the Settings icon.
      3. Tap Manage.

      4. Do one of the following:

        • Add Member

          1. Tap Invite members.
          2. Tap the desired Family member then tap Send Invite.
          3. If prompted, tap Agree.

        • Remove Remove

          1. Tap the Trash icon to the far right of the Family member you wish to remove.
          2. Review the message then tap Remove or Leave.
  • Cancel Family Line
